Oregon – Portland (Oaks Park)

On Wednesday, I drove to the Sellwood area of Portland, Oregon.  Near the Sellwood Bridge is an amusement park, called Oaks Park.  (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oaks_Amusement_Park & http://www.oakspark.com/)

The amusement park is more than 100 years old and one of the oldest operating amusement parks in the nation.

When I arrived, the amusement park was emptying (from an end of school year party for middle school kids).  So I walked around taking pictures, as the amusement park was closing down for the day.

I entered through a nice park/picnic area, which overlooks the Willamette River.

My hotel was in the Penn Station/Herald Square area.  The room was on one of the top floors and had a view of the Empire State Building, if you looked sharply to the left as you looked out the window.  (Taken through the window – the window would not open.)  (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empire_State_Building)
