Oregon – Pelton Dam

As I drove across Oregon, I turned off Highway 26 to visit the Pelton Dam.   (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pelton_Dam)

The drive to the dam was beautiful!

Florida – Apollo Beach

For the last two and a half months, I have been in Apollo Beach, Florida.  Some of it was my winter vacation and some was to with my 81 year old mom during and after her hip replacement surgery.

As I prepare to travel home to Oregon, here are some of my favorite photographs of the beautiful older adult community where I stayed.

Florida – Lakeland

Just east of Tampa is Lakeland.  (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lakeland,_Florida)

I visited the area, looking for beauty.

The city is cute.  I wandered around until I landed by one of the city’s many lakes.

Washington state – Elk

Traveled to a small area just north of Spokane, Washington – at the western edge of the state.  (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elk,_Washington)

Walked down a road to Reflection Lake – a private lake near the house where I was staying.

ElkWA05112014 (22)

The lake was man-made.   I was told a story that Bing Crosby had a home along the body of water that ran through the area.  He decided to damn it off, so that we could fish on the lake.   (I searched the internet to find out if it were true, but nothing turned up.)

The lake is magnificent to behold.  I took a stroll around it.  Gorgeous!
