The last blog entry (out of space)

When posting the most recent entry (about York, South Carolina), I found that I have used up the space allotted to me by WordPress.

Thank you for following my adventures!

Every time I read a comment or saw a Like, it made me feel good.  It’s nice to know that people enjoy my work.

Here’s a picture of me, in case you wondered whose photographic adventures you have been following.

If I start another blog, I will post a message with the link.  (If I do not have enough room to create another post, I will try to insert the link into this blog post.)

Once, again, thanks for traveling the country with me.  Your support meant a lot to me.

Adios!

South Carolina – York

I visited an old High School friend, who lives in York.  It is located just south of Charlotte, North Carolina.  (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/York,_South_Carolina)

York is a small town, with only about 7000 residents.

I took a walking tour of downtown.

I visited “The Men’s Shop.”  It has such an elegant style.  Reminded me of the fashionable clothing shops of my youth.

YorkSC2015 (61)The proprietor invited me in to take pictures of the store.

I loved the window display.

The most unusual thing in town is a large spine in front of the Chiropractor’s office…

The TV series “Outcast” is filmed in York.    Some of the buildings are made to look like Rome, West Virginia.  (http://www.wyff4.com/news/south-carolina-town-transforming-into-film-set/34670446)

Oregon – Clackamette Park

For the last month, I have been in the Portland, Oregon area.

On Saturday, I drove to a Clackamette Park in Oregon City.  The park is located along the Willamette River.  (http://www.orcity.org/parksandrecreation/clackamette-park & http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willamette_River).

It was a beautiful  place to be on a hot summer day!

Here are a couple views of the river.

Idaho – Glenns Ferry

As I drove further into southern Idaho, the landscape started changing.  So I jumped off the highway (Interstate 84) in the Glenns Ferry area to get a some pictures.  (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glenns_Ferry,_Idaho)

Idaho – Bliss

A couple weeks ago, I drove through southern Idaho.   The Interstate (I-84) took me through the Bliss area.   (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bliss,_Idaho)

I pulled off the exit to get a few pictures of how flat the countryside looked (for miles  and miles  and miles).

BlissID2015 (8)I love this sign.

Silly me, I chose to go straight.  I have been looking for bliss all my life…  🙂

Here are some pictures from the exit ramp…

Utah – mid-state (near 108 mile marker – Interstate 84)

As I traveled along Interstate 84 in Utah, I was struck by the beautiful landscape.

Somewhere near mile marker 111, I drove into a gorgeous canyon (created so the road could pass).  It was a surreal experience.  Loved it!  I attempted to take photographs of the canyon, but it hardly does any justice.

Several  miles down the road (around mile marker 108), I pulled off the road and took some pictures of a beautiful stream.
